Programme
One of the goals of WPMC’08 is to bring Academia and Industry together. The symposium programme is therefore a merged combination of scientific and industrial parts. For scientific contributions, the organization follows a rigorous review process and competitive paper selection. In addition to this more common component, Industry contributions are welcomed to the symposium.
Full papers are submitted for scientific contributions and will appear on the Proceedings. For Industry presentations, it is also possible to submit only an abstract. See Submission page for more details.

Sastri Kota (Harris corporation, United States; University of Oulu, Finland), Alexander Vallet (Agence National des Frequences, France), Bruno Perrot (SES Engineering, Luxemburg), Ana Yun Garcia (Thales Alenia Space Espana, Spain)Description: Next Generation network (NGN) represents one of the most challenging transitions ever to have occurred in communications. Considering the recent trends in information and communication technologies, to converge and optimize the operating networks, NGN enlarges richer application to the end user, and economics of scale to the operator. In this context, satellites communications play a significant role in achieving interoperable solutions, using hybrid networks composed of satellite and radio access networks. This panel brings together experts from industry and academic, exchange their experience and share their “vision” providing a road map for hybrid solutions to NGN.
