It is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you to the 12th International Symposium on Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC’09). Despite being in the midst of economic turmoil and the ongoing fear of influenza spreading worldwide, we have been fortunate enough to receive many high quality contributions from around the world though the number was a little less than initially expected. This year’s WPMC continues its tradition of being the Premier Forum for presentation of results and experience reporting on leading edge issues concerning wireless communications research. The mission of the symposium is to share novel research ideas as well as practical applications in the area of wireless communications, in addition to identifying new directions for future research and developments. WPMC’09 is intended to give researchers and engineers a unique opportunity to share ideas on the various aspects of wireless communications and other state-of-the art technologies.
The symposium program will no doubt be of interest to all those involved in wireless communications research. It will feature 8 special sessions such as LTE-advanced, green communications, medical ICT, and more. The program also includes contributions from outstanding keynote speakers, as well as tutorials and invited papers from leading experts in the field. Furthermore, WPMC’09 will provide you with a valuable opportunity to share ideas on an international basis with other participating researchers and engineers from around the world.
