Overview
The WPMC Symposia series was inaugurated in 1998 at Yokosuka Research Park, Japan, as a forum for enabling collaboration in the field of wireless multimedia communications. Over the years WPMC has been held in various countries in the world, and has established itself as a unique global symposium dedicated to wireless multimedia convergence.
Federation University of Campina Grande (UFCG) becomes the host organization in this 13th WPMC2010 which was held in South America for the first time. WPMC2010 drew 202 participants from 18 countries. 98 papers were submitted, and 90 of them were accepted. The symposium also featured 6 lectures by invited speakers .
Opening Ceremony
At Opening Ceremony, Welcome Address was given by Prof. Sergio Machado Rezende, Minister of Science and Technology, Brazil. and also Mr. Kazushige Fujita Director for Technology Policy Planning, Technology Policy Division, Global ICT Strategy Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications(MIC), Japan gave a lecture presentation.
