Special Session 1: Techno Multi Business Model Innovation, organized by Professor Peter Lindgren (peterli@btech.au.dk) of Aarhus University, Denmark

Today it is important that businesses can create, capture and deliver Business Models fast, effective and efficient in all types of vertical and horizontal Business Model Eco Systems. As the lifetime of BM’s continuously keeps to diminish business gets more and more push to deliver changed or even new BM’s – and with this more radical and disruptive BM’s. The “production” of BM’s must therefore be increased but also become at the same time of high quality. Competence and capability of MBMI becomes hereby critical to any businesses. The technology and other parts of competence of MBMI has therefore to be develop continuously. Techno Multi Business Model Innovation becomes a critical competence – maybe core competence of future businesses. A major requested to any employee and not least to any future employees is to have capability to do techno Multi Business Model Innovation. More universities and other training businesses are focused on supporting and servicing with this type of training, courses and competence development – but are also by national government requested to help fill out this gap. Facilitating competence and capability building to MBMI teams and collaboration in MBMI projects, where future technologies are “bridge” to different TO BE BM’s, are not easy neither well documented in literature. It is a very complex task as many BM frameworks are not digitalized, consistence and do not give enough and deep insight in – How AS IS BM are really operating and proposed TO BE BM’s really are constructed and will come to operate? Many BM frameworks are not possible to build on continuously – like “lego bricks”. There is therefore a large demotivation to MBMI and waste of MBMI resources and investment in MBMI at businesses. Many Business Model Innovation courses do only result in “bobbles” and “ideas” but are never taken to implementation. Many BMI courses do not guide to How to bring TO BE BM’s to the BMES? Much TO BE BM’s potential are therefore wasted and many resources together with potential new technologies are inefficient used in businesses to create MBMI projects. How can technology help to increase the value and output of future MBMI at a Global Business and society basis.

 

Special Session 2: Technology-oriented Business approach in Communications, Transport, Health and Environment, organized by Dr Purnima Lala Mehta (purnima.lala@gmail.com), IILM , Gr Noida, India

Advancements in technology are paving its way, but it is essential to associate any technical idea with a business aspect. The idea of making a product is majorly concentrated in making a business, overlooking the fact that what kind of value that a product adds to the society. Business and Technology are inseparable and must go hand in hand. Besides generating ideas and selling products, it is now imperative for businesses to consider sustainability in the areas of Communications, Transportation, Healthcare and Environment. All these challenges can be catered if we build strategies to integrate technology into the business planning process and examine how to manage technology as a business strategy. Through this special session, we desire to welcome researches and ideas with a technology-oriented business planning perspective in the above-mentioned areas. We look forward to papers which put forward compelling research on the sustainability of their business ideas for competitive and ever-changing technologies.

Special Session 3: IoT security services in smart technology domains, organized by SecureIoT project (https://secureiot.eu/, contact: sofoklis@btech.au.dk)

During the past years the world has witnessed several notorious security incidents on IoT devices and applications, such as the “Lizard Stressor” attacks on home routers, the 1.4 million cars that were recalled by Chrysler due to potential hacking of their control software, Tesla’s autopilot crash, as well as the first large scale distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack based on IoT devices. These incidents have indicated the vulnerability of emerging IoT infrastructures, while at the same time highlighting the tremendous socio-economic importance of IoT security. The SecureIoT workshop will present an innovative approach for IoT and cybersecurity in smart technology domains, focusing on:

• Cybersecurity Challenges for IoT
• Resilient IoT applications in the Cloud
• Solutions for Assessing and Mitigating Risks and Cyber Threats
• Demonstrators and Case Studies
• Panel discussion

Special Session 4: Digital Life, Medias, and Communications, organized by Dr Punnarumol Temdee and Dr Chayapol Kamyod (punnarumol@mfu.ac.th and chayapol.kam@mfu.ac.th) from MFU THAILAND

With rapid demand and development of Internet and communication technology; various innovations, internet of things, and modern high- speed wireless communications will be in reality. Accordingly, digital society and multimedia communications will be an essential part of the next generation of human society and business. Data or information will become another critical and values assets in the future digital world. Therefore, research in the next-generation network, multi-sensors, multimedia, big data, block chain, AI, and security will be shortly delivered to the new frontier of digital business and society. We want to bring some of these topics to the forefront of the WPMC 2019 conference. We are especially interested in papers that address all aspects of ICT technologies and multimedia, digital health, business, and society, including algorithms, models, systems, and applications. This special session topics of interest include but are not limited to:

Special Session 5: NICT’s Challenge towards the Future Wireless Communication World with Collaborative Research, Development and Promotion Activities: Part 1 (Invited), organized by Dr. Fumihide Kojima from NICT (f-kojima@nict.go.jp)

National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) is Japan’s sole national research and development agency specializing in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). NICT’s activities on ICT include applied electromagnetic research, wired & wireless communications research, universal communication research, cybersecurity research and open innovation promotion, each of which drives economic growth and creates an affluent, safe and secure society. In those two Special Sessions, NICT’s latest activities related to the wireless communication research will be introduced. The wireless communication research topics are categorized into that on the terrestrial communication technologies that are engaged in the Wireless Systems Laboratory and that on the satellite communication technologies that are engaged in the Space Communications Laboratory. Since the wireless communication field are currently expecting a great evolution as known as the 5th generation communication (5G) or beyond 5G (B5G) world, NICT has eagerly proceeding the related activities by considering the harmonization with the existing systems and industries so that NICT’s achievements are suitably and effectively fed back to such evolved society. In those sessions, NICT’s latest activities and achievements on R&D as well as promotion such as standardization and certification will be introduced. Session will be composed of 4 to 5 invited-based papers.

Special Session 7: Terahertz Technologies and Regulations towards 6G (Invited), organized by Dr. Hiroyo Ogawa from NICT (hiroyoogawa@nict.go.jp)

The Special session focuses on the current technologies above 275 GHz which supports the transmission data rate above 100Gbps. The session also covers the regulatory issues above 275 GHz which will be regulated after WRC-19. The session invites distinguished speakers from Europe, Asia and North America to discuss terahertz technologies and regulations towards beyond 5G and 6G. Session will be composed of 4 to 5 invited-based papers.
